St. Luke's Cathedral, Portland invites the entire community to take part in a contemplative service offering, World Too Beautiful, that emphasizes environmental and community values such as the beauty of creation, the interconnection of all beings, and the need for harmony, encouragement and healing. The services draw inspiration from diverse Christian traditions as we welcome people of all ages and nationalities to share in reflection, readings, music and prayer. There is a gathering afterward for refreshments, fellowship and productive conversations.
September’s online gatherings of the earth-conscious service World Too Beautiful will take place the 2nd and 16th. On Wednesday the 2nd, St. Lukan Sarah Braik, who coordinates the Portland chapter of Citizen’s Climate Lobby, will offer the reflection. On Wednesday the 16th, Kathy Coughlan, a member of St. Luke’s and of St. Peter’s Cathedral in St. Petersburg, FL will be our reflector. Kathy is a retired psychiatric nurse involved in social justice and environmental matters.
All are welcome!
