Areas of the Episcopal Diocese of Maine

The Episcopal Diocese of Maine is divided into six Areas made up of groups of congregations.

Diocesan Council, a decision-making body of the Diocese of Maine, is comprised of two elected members from each of the six diocesan Areas. New clergy members will be elected to Council at an upcoming Pre-Convention Town Hall in advance of the 202nd Convention of the Diocese of Maine.

Explore a map of the new Area structure below or scroll down to view a color-coded listing of congregations within each Area. Parishioners in each grouping of churches will be asked to select a name for their Area in 2022.

Areas will be named by the members of the congregations in each grouping after Convention 2021.
