Fall and Winter Middle School Events (including Awakening and Crosswalk)
Adventure. Service. Worship. New friends. Fun. A middle school youth event is all these and more. It's a chance for you and 45 of your friends (most of whom you have not met yet) to grow closer to God.
These are weekend long events for middle schoolers (grades 6-8). Participants take part in a variety of activities including small group discussions, skits, games, as well as time to hang out with friends and socialize. We eat great food and snacks and usually we have a chance to go swimming. The events usually begin Friday at 6:30 (after dinner) and end early Sunday afternoon. There's always a Celebration Eucharist at the end, to which families and friends are invited. Each event has a different theme. Here are some of them:
AWAKENING is the fall middle school event in 2008. We'll explore friendship, friendship with Jesus, God's unconditional love for you and talking with God. We'll look at lots of stuff that's relevant to the lives of middle schoolers in Maine. We'll go swimming, play games, worship God, do drama and eat great food.
The Middle School Winter 2008 event was Crosswalk. The Crosswalk event is a weekend in which we explore relationships. We look at our own relationships with family and friends. How does that relate to our relationship with Jesus Christ? We look at Jesus as a friend and at ways of communicating with God. Then we explore our relationships with our global family.
