Mutual Study of Ministry for Congregations For many years, the Bishop’s Office has encouraged all congregations to conduct an annual Mutual Study of Ministry (formerly called a Mutual Ministry Review). A requirement to conduct an MSM between the first 12-18 months is now written into all new Letters of Agreement between Rectors or Priests in Charge and Vestries or Bishop’s Committees. Per that Letter of Agreement, the Canon for Formation and Transition Ministry facilitates all "first time" MSMs. It is thereafter strongly recommended that an MSM be done every two years. The Canon for Formation and Transition Ministry will assist in finding a diocesan facilitator for subsequent MSMs. September 2012: A new brochure outlining the process for congregations is available. or contact Cn.
