MISSIONER FOR CAMPUS MINISTRY
Bishop Daniel Corrigan is said to have once remarked, "campus ministry is the greatest domestic mission field of the church." This mission has been recognized by the Diocese and is actively being met.
The first mission location is the University of Southern Maine. The Episcopal Chaplaincy has been operating since September 2005, with active engagement in the USM community.
Another role the Missioner plays is to encourage and support parishes adjacent to a campus to be intentional about outreach to the students, faculty and staff.
Additionally, Rev. Bowen has been appointed as one of two chaplains for the National Episcopal Student Leadership Team, which is sponsored out of the National Church.
