As our consultant for public policy, John helps all of us live out our baptismal vows by representing our social justice interests in the public square. Emily supports members of the diocese as they engage in their life-long faith journeys. Contact Emily to learn more about our Justice Commission and its work in the areas of creation care through the Climate Justice Council, domestic poverty with our Jubilee Centers and other diocesan-wide ministries, racial justice through our Racial Justice Council and indigenous justice through our Committee on Indian Relations. Emily is also our liaison with United Thank Offering, the Province of New England, and our Global Mission Advocate.
Contact Aaron for matters about deacons including identifying who in your faith community might be called to be ordained to the diaconate. He is responsible for the support of and pastoral care for deacons, organizing events including the diocese-wide Deacon Sunday within congregations. You might see Aaron when he accompanies Bishop Brown on visitations. Aaron serves on our Commission on Ministry. He continues his ministry as a deacon at St. George in York Harbor.
Teresa helps members of the diocese and staff engage in building community and participating in God’s mission. She manages the diocesan annual convention cycle and works with governing bodies to conduct the business of convention throughout the year. In support of diocesan initiatives and to help communicate our efforts, Teresa manages the many of the diocese’s digital tools and oversees the diocesan website. She is the project manager of the diocesan hosting plan for churches. Contact Teresa with questions about convention, the diocesan website, grants, clergy formation, our archives, or summer chapels.
Sherri manages all bookkeeping, accounting, and payroll functions for the diocese, supervising our payroll specialist. She reconciles and prepares financial statements, supporting the audit and managing internal controls. Lauralee provides support to Bishop Brown with his calendar and correspondence and official acts. She serves as the Loring House office manager, the staff liaison to our Liturgical Commission, and secretary to the Trustees of Diocesan Funds. Contact her with questions about the chaplains to the retired clergy, and the ordination process. Contact Suzanne about changes in clergy leadership or to apply for a clergy position in the diocese. She is available to guide clergy and congregations through their times of Guide to Clergy Transitions. She trains search committees, screens candidates, and creates letters of agreement. She continues to also serve at the Cathedral of St. Luke in Portland.
